The total export cargos of 45,869 tonnes comprised of 17,061 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20,620 tonnes of clinker; 2,888 tonnes of rice and 5,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 2,753 containers comprising of 1,489 containers import and 1,264 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 245 of 20's and 557 of 40's loaded while 22 of 20's and 54 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 355 of 20's and 325 of 40's loaded containers while 79 of 20's and 90 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Hyundai New York, Ever Decent, Zenith Leader, Zanpol Force, Ioanna Pol and Kiveli carrying containers, vehicle and general cargo sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. APL Norway, APL England and VTC Dragon carrying containers and rice currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 88,332 tonnes comprising 67,432 tonnes of import cargo and 20,900 tonnes of export cargo including 1,470 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 67,432 tonnes includes 5,000 tonnes of palm oil; 785 tonnes of diesel oil; 7,971 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 28,922 tonnes of coal; 16,000 tonnes of rock phosphate; 1,724 tonnes of LPG and 7,030 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,900 tonnes includes 20,900 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,470 containers comprising of 370 containers import and 1,100 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were two ships namely Kil Burn and Chemroad Hope respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely MSC Elsa-3 and Ocean Lady are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, palm kernel, LPG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as sixteen vessels viz. CV ER Tokyo, MV GNG Concord, MV Pedhoulas Trader, MV Sea Magic, MV Globe Trotter, MV Li Etta, MV Pacific Activity, MV Baltic Light, MV Navig-8 Azurita, MV Gaschem Nordsee, MT MR Tanker, MT Anolipsi, MT NCC Noor, MT UACC Muharraq, MT Bum Shun and MT Horizon respectively carrying containers, soyabean, rice, coal, chemical, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV ER Tokyo, CV Maersk Lima, MV Sea Magic, MT MR Tanker and MT UACC Muharraq carrying containers, rice, mogas and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grains and Furtilizer Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday
There is one ship namely CV Conti Darwin carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
